Physical activity behavior among students
Less than one quarter ( 24 %) of children 6 to 17 years of age participate in 60 minutes of physical activity every day 2 out of 3 children do not have healthy BMI

In India, 73.9 % children got insufficient physical activity ” in 2016 , increasing their chances of being obese and developing heart disease, diabetes and mental health problems, including depression, according to a World Health Organization analysis of 1.6 million students across 146 countries. Despite several efforts ’ schools could not meet up the physical activity demands as there are certain challenges that comes at their forefront. Few of these are, lack of exposure to multiple sports (limited sports options for the students or teachers well equipped in multiple sports), lack of engagement (students are more conscious of their academic cut throat competition), limited infrastructure (limited play space or equipment or props), non inclusive PE Programs (non inclusive in terms of gender or physical hindrances i.e. disability) etc.
